CWH Blog Love

August 19, 2011

In our brief moments of downtime at the Catherine Ward House, we find ourselves drawn to a number of different blogs and websites. In honor of National Aviation Day (August 19th) we’d like to share with you the blog for the Experimental Aviation Association – http://www.eaa.org/

While the blog may not be the most aesthetically pleasing site to look at, it is chock full of information about emerging technology and designs within the aerospace industry – which is exactly what National Aviation Day celebrates.

It’s impressive to think that in the past 108 years, we’ve gone from one little airplane on the beaches of North Carolina to numerous private, commercial, and military aerospace companies with whole fleets of models – not to mention that whole SPACE travel thing.

If you are lucky enough to be flying on August 19th, be sure to wish your flight crew a happy National Aviation Day.

*** Wondering why August 19th was selected for National Aviation Day? It is Orville Wright’s birthday. ***
