15 Minutes Away on Foot: Eat at The Sentient Bean

March 7, 2011

This week, we highlight The Sentient Bean, located at 13 East Park Avenue – across the street from the Forsyth Park tennis courts.

The Sentient Bean is a local coffee shop with a focus on Organic, fair trade, and home made food, drinks, art, and entertainment. Catering to the neighborhood tastes, they offer a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan breakfasts, lunch, and snack options. There is ample indoor seating ranging from tables and bar tops to couches as well as outdoor seating along Park Ave. You will find these coveted outdoor tables and chairs packed on sunny spring, summer, and fall days – especially during the lunch hours.

For those looking for a relaxed evening soaking up the local Savannah culture,  the Sentient Bean offers numerous evening events. Past events have included: open mic night, concerts with area musicians, and movie screenings. Many of these events are free or have a “suggested donation.” While soaking up the atmosphere, challenge yourself to a game of scrabble, guess who, or one of the many board games available for patrons.

The Sentient Bean is open daily from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm.

Getting to The Sentient Bean from the Catherine Ward House Inn by foot is very easy. From door to door, it takes as little as 1-3 minutes to walk between the two.
