January 31, 2011

This week, we highlight 700 Drayton, located at 700 Drayton, on the property of the Mansion on Forsyth Park.

Owned by the Mansion of Forsyth Park, one of Savannah’s premier hotels, 700 Drayton is a great dining option located less than 3 blocks from the Catherine Ward House Inn. The restaurant is located in the restored 1888 mansion, from which the hotel takes its name. The mansion’s rooms have been maintained and rehabilitated into the restaurant’s six dining rooms – each with its own style and atmosphere.

As a hotel restaurant, 700 Drayton offers a wide variety of foods ranging from simple (but elegant) salads and soups to Bleu Cheese Filet Mignon and Crispy Plum Duckling. Although vegetarian diners are always welcome, they may find the vegetarian friendly options to be on the more limited side, as compared to other restaurants (including: Leoci’s Trattoria orLocal 11 Ten).

Most notable about the restaurant is that a full menu is available in the 3rd floor bar area, known as Casimir’s Lounge. Additionally, live jazz and blues is hosted at Casimir’s Lounge every Thurs-Sat night.

700 Drayton is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

Breakfast: 7:00 am – 11:00 am
Lunch (Monday-Saturday): 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Brunch (Sunday): 11:00 am – 2:00 pm
Dinner: 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Getting to 700 Drayton from the Catherine Ward House Inn by foot is very easy. From door to door, it takes as little as 3-5 minutes to walk between the two.
