15 Minutes Away: Ramble through Jones Street

January 3, 2011

This week, we highlight Jones Street, one of the premier and most desirable residential streets in Savannah. Located one square north of Forsyth Park (4 short blocks) Jones Street is home to numerous restored residential row houses, Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, and the Illustration building for SCAD. The intersection of Jones Street and Whitaker Street is also the center of the Downtown Design District.

Strolling along Jones Street can easily take an entire morning for those who wish to linger and admire the architectural details of each building. Fans of decorative iron work should be sure to take some time to explore Jones Street.

Getting to Jones Street from the Catherine Ward House Inn by foot is very easy. From door to door, it takes about 5-7 minutes to walk between the two.
