Events happening this weekend (12/17-19) include:

11/25 – 12/25 – Savannah Harbor Foundation Gingerbread Village, Westin Hotel Savannah

Not just a house, but an entire Village! This display of culinary delights is created anew each year by local chefs, students, and community groups. This is a can’t-miss for anyone with a sweet spot for candy delights and holiday cheer! Display is free and open to the public.

12/18 – 11 AM, 2 PM, and 7 PM, “2010 Holiday Matinee Films,” Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton Street.

Get in the spirit of the season with three family-friendly holiday films. At 11 a.m., check out “Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas” on the big screen, followed by Disney’s “A Christmas Carol,” starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge, at 2 p.m. The festive day of holiday films concludes with “White Christmas,” starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, at 7 p.m.

12/18 – 8 PM – 11 PM, Christmas with the Savannah Philharmonic, Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, 22 E. Harris Street.

A festive evening including excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and Handel’s Messiah, Christmas favorites, sing-along carols and much more. The Christmas concert in Savannah! Tickets are $35, $50 or $100. Call 912.525.5050 or go online to for more information.

12/19 – 4 PM, Scrooge, A Dramatic Dance Presentation, Armstrong Atlantic Fine Arts Auditorium.

Scrooge “A timeless tale of life’s choices” based on the traditional story by Charles Dickens. This performance is filled with beautiful music, colorful costumes and excellent dancing. A fun Christmas tradition for all ages. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit
