15 Minutes Away on Foot: Canine Palace

December 13, 2010

This week, we highlight The Canine Palace, a great little shop for those of you traveling with pets, or pained by the guilt of leaving them behind. Located at 612 Abercorn Street (just steps south of Leoci’s Trattoria) The Canine Palace is the place to visit to grab a quick “present from Savannah” for your favorite four-legged friend. This is one of the shops in Savannah where “Your dog is welcome to come in and schmooze or shop. We’re almost embarrassingly dog-friendly.”

For those looking for a way to mix and mingle with some pet-loving Savannah locals, the Canine Palace is the place to meet up on Sunday evenings for a stroll through the city with the St. Almo group. St. Almo also hosts events throughout the year, including Wag-O-Ween.

The hours of The Canine Palace vary based on the season. In Winter, the store is open 12:00-5:00 Wed-Sat and 1:00-5:00 on Sundays. In the Summer, it is open 12:00-6:00 Wed-Sat and 1:00-5:00 on Sundays.

Getting to the Canine Palace from the Catherine Ward House Inn by foot is very easy. From door to door, it takes about 5 minutes to walk between the two.
